Who hasn’t experienced misunderstandings during a conversation with a partner, colleague, or friend? It’s clear that we all have different ways of functioning, which can lead to everyday miscommunications. Understanding these different communication approaches is the starting point of the show, “Com en couleurs.”

Initially presented as corporate conferences, this project transformed in September 2024 into a one-man show blending humor and behavioral analysis. What is it about? Using a communication tool based on the DISC method, the show illustrates four profiles characterized by distinct and recurring behaviors, each represented by a specific color:

Red, embodied by Roger, the Dominant
Yellow, Justine, the Influencer
Green, Virginie, the Steady
Blue, Bernard, the Compliant

With boundless enthusiasm and impressive physical flexibility—borderline “hyper-flexibility”—Vincent Lemaire explains and demonstrates the method in a deliberately caricatured way. Throughout this high-energy journey, he brings these “colorful” personalities to life, making them memorable, hilarious, and endearing. It quickly becomes clear that he has encountered these four colors before, as the traits of each character he portrays are steeped in realism.

1. The Strengths of “Com en couleurs”

One of the show’s strengths lies in its ability to tackle complex topics in an entertaining way. The performer uses humor and mime to illustrate various behaviors that can potentially cause conflicts in daily interactions. The audience, partially or entirely identifying with the characters or situations presented, responds with laughter—sometimes to the point of tears—as they recognize the flaws of their friends or colleagues… some of whom are sitting right beside them! Then comes a special moment where four audience members are invited on stage to identify their closest DISC profile color. Encouraged by their peers, they willingly participate in this interactive segment, skillfully guided by the DISC expert.

As for accessories, glowing wristbands representing the four colors are distributed before the show, creating a warm and colorful ambiance in the dark, reminiscent of candle flames at a concert. The minimalist stage design ensures the focus remains on the core messages. Transitions between characters are seamlessly executed with well-designed lighting effects, further enhanced by a carefully curated soundtrack played through high-quality audio equipment—a detail that, of course, adds to the experience.

2. Our Opinion on the Show

“Com en couleurs” is a successful adaptation for general audiences, offering a thoughtful exploration of how we communicate and relate to others. If you think psychology is boring, prepare to be surprised. Skillfully constructed, “Com en couleurs” turns behavioral psychology into a comedy festival, blending introspection with entertainment—like a circus juggler who tosses us into the air but never lets us fall.

In summary, if you’re looking for an evening filled with laughter and thought-provoking moments, “Com en couleurs” is the show for you. You’ll leave with stronger abs and facial muscles and, as a bonus, a fresh perspective on the fascinating and endearing nature of humanity!
