Steven Sondheim’s Legendary Musical "Company" Comes to France
Steven Sondheim, a legendary composer who shaped the history of musical theater, has won an impressive six Tony Awards, the equivalent of the Oscars for theater. One of his seminal works, Company, is set to be adapted in France. This unique event will debut on March 8 and 9, 2025, at the Opéra de Massy.
Company holds a special place in Sondheim’s career as it was his first major success as a composer. The show stands out for its timeless themes, including friendship, relationships, love, and loneliness. Even if musicals aren’t your cup of tea, Company offers a dynamic experience with no dull moments. Stunning dance numbers, unique pairings, and inspired staging are the hallmarks of this production.
A Franco-British team faces the daunting task of adapting Company for French audiences. Renowned artist Ewan Jones, known for his work on various Netflix productions and West End shows, is joined by a team of visionary designers to bring this adaptation to life.
Everything is in place for an unforgettable moment of musical theater.
