Where are you? With Chantal Pétillot, directed by Gabriel Debray at 100 ECS on October 4, 5, 7, 9, and 10, then in April at the Théâtre de l’Opprimé.
A woman appears on stage with her suitcase and belongings. Very quickly, we understand that this character is alone, on the street, and she begins to question her past and present life… but where does she fit in our society?
She used to be a married woman working in a bank where she climbed the corporate ladder until motherhood. When she returned from maternity leave… everything was gone… her position, her desk, her responsibilities were handed to someone else. She loses her grip and falls into depression. She leaves everything: job, husband, child, apartment… and ends up on the street, but it’s her choice.
Faced with her fate, she asks herself many questions: what was her role in her family, among her siblings, later in her marriage, at work, and with her children?
Chantal Pétillot is an excellent performer, and the text makes us reflect on our own lives. Everything can change from one day to the next.
The minimalist yet effective staging enhances the actress's performance, which is simply extraordinary.
Kudos to the duo of Chantal Pétillot and Gabriel Debray.
A heartfelt performance that hits hard.
