Xmas Vybe: A grandiose celebration of Afro-Caribbean music at the Accor Arena

On December 20, at 7:30 PM, the Accor Arena in Bercy came alive with the rhythm of the Xmas Vybe Festival, an exceptional concert dedicated to Afro-Caribbean music. This event brought together iconic artists from all over to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the islands: Guadeloupe, Martinique, Haiti, Cape Verde, Réunion, Guyana, Mauritius… A true musical mosaic that set the Parisian stage ablaze.

1. Xmas Vybe 2024

The festive atmosphere was hosted by comedian Nordine and the talented DJ Kawest. The concert featured a series of unforgettable performances. From the first notes, the energy was palpable, with the audience responding enthusiastically to the artists’ vibrant energy.

The evening began with Kaisha, a Congolese singer and producer, who set the tone with his contagious energy. He was followed by Kalipsxau, a singer from Réunion, who carried the momentum forward.

The stage then welcomed iconic figures of Afro-Caribbean music. Jean-Michel Rotin, with his 30-year career, delighted fans of retro zouk. Next, Krys, the Antillean “King of Dancehall,” ignited the arena alongside dazzling dancers. Lynsha, with two decades of career experience, graced the stage with an elegant and dynamic show, supported by her talented dance team.

The audience was further mesmerized by Singuila, the king of R&B, as well as Maureen, the “Queen of Martinique,” and Bamby, the dancehall icon from Guyana.

Kim, the princess of zouk, charmed the audience by performing her hit song “Je fonds” and other classics. Her soft, enchanting voice confirmed her status as an icon.

Monsieur Nov, a fresh face in French R&B, offered an intimate and emotional performance that enveloped Bercy in a serene musical bubble.

Oswald and his dancers kept the energy alive, spreading contagious enthusiasm. DJ Kawest then elevated the atmosphere with an explosive medley that transformed the Accor Arena into a massive dance floor, leaving the crowd in a euphoric trance.

Perle Lama made a grand entrance next. Her commanding presence and powerful voice captivated the audience, enhanced by the sensual and dynamic choreography of JSD’s dancers. Their energy elevated her performance to new heights.

2. A Zouk Legend

The concert reached legendary status with Thierry Cham. At 53 years old, the iconic zouk artist continues to enchant with his timeless charisma and mesmerizing voice.

Ronisia, a singer of Cape Verdean descent, graced the stage with elegance and power. Her refined outfit and natural charisma, paired with her captivating voice, made her performance unforgettable.

Franglish closed out the main acts with a high-energy set. From the first notes, he captured the audience, raising the temperature with infectious rhythms. Fans sang along to every word, uniting the stage and crowd into a single entity.

3. Festival Finale

As the night drew to a close, a spectacular surprise delighted the crowd: the appearance of Joe Dwet File. Performing his hit “4 Kampe,” he set the room on fire, delivering a grand finale to an already extraordinary evening.

The Xmas Vybe Festival was more than just a concert; it was a cultural and musical celebration that united hearts and minds around the captivating rhythms of the Afro-Caribbean islands.
